A few minutes after the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) settled on and nominated Justice Martha Koome to be the next Chief Justice, some hopefuls who were also interviewed have broken their silence.

Philip Murgor who was one of the hopefuls for the same position has taken to social media to talk about Justice Koome’s nomination.

Murgor has confirmed that he will support Justice Koome’s onerous responsibilities should her nomination count to the end and get appointed by the President.

He has congratulated the nominated CJ for the same

“I take this opportunity to wholeheartedly congratulate Justice Martha Koome for her nomination by the JSC, and assure her of all my support in her onerous responsibilities,”

he tweeted.

Justice Koome will make history as the first female Chief Justice in Kenya.

Politicians especially women have also taken to social media to congratulate Justice Koome, with some like Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru said her nomination is a clear hint time for a woman president has come.
